We are so proud to be celebrating five years of business as Seedesign Studio! We have been taking a moment to reflect on the last few exciting years for our design practice.

Our founding director, Joel Barker, started the company in mid 2015 when he saw an opportunity to create more meaningful work that he felt passionately about. Hannah Pannell and Eoin Gladish joined in the last few years and now make up our core, small but efficient team of landscape architects. Over these last five years Seedesign Studio has evolved and become established as one of Perth’s best Landscape Architecture practices. We have been privileged to design some fantastic spaces and been given opportunities to make an impact on our city as well as some important regional areas that we love.

Although we have worked on many projects at Seedesign Studio there are a few that stand out to our team as favourites. In 2016 we won the King’s Square Urban Playspace project which gave us the opportunity to apply a truly creative approach to a site that is close to our hearts. Not long after, Alison Hartman Gardens was the first in a series of exciting new projects that we worked on in collaboration with the City of Albany. It has gone on to be a working relationship that has been important to Seedesign Studio with extensive new ventures and work done in key sites such as Middleton Beach foreshore. It has been such a privilege to work in this beautiful community. In 2018 we won the first stage of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre Redevelopment, a competitive design focused tender which has challenged and inspired us. The client, AMP Capital and Multiplex took a risk on our small but emerging practice which has led to a continued working relationship. We are so excited to see this development beginning construction. This year saw the completion of our Coogee Common project, a large working urban farm surrounding a beautiful heritage building in Perth’s south. Although these projects have been highlights for our team, each job that we have worked on has been an important piece of our growing business.

Thank you to all of our valued clients who have given us the chance to work on so many fantastic projects. We are excited to see what the next five years hold for our team. We have grown and learnt so much that we can apply to our future work.
